Learn German with a Natural Approach
Study with a method based on research and learn German in a fun and natural way

Willkommen!
In the classroom we are told to endlessly study grammar and memorise concepts, however, research shows that language is acquired through authentic experiences. The concept of Natürlich German is based on Dr. Stephen Krashen's second language acquisition theory, in which one uses comprehensible input to acquire a language, rather than 'learn' it. “We acquire language in only one way: when we understand what people say and when we understand what we read.“ -Dr. Stephen Krashen What exactly is comprehensible input? Comprehensible language input can be either listening or reading content in your target language that is easy and comprehensible enough to understand on any level. This type of input uses slow speech, visual cues (gestures, pictures, etc.), familiar content, anything that engages you and where your brain is able to make connections to what is being said. If you are familiar with my YouTube channel you probably already know what this might look like. Research shows that this is the best way to acquire a language naturally. Being exposed to native, authentic German means you will have gained a natural sense for what feels right and wrong by the time you start practising language ‘output’ (speaking & writing). You can build up vocabulary and apply grammar easily without endlessly drilling the formal rules. With this method, you will notice faster progress while learning how to speak more like a native, and most importantly, acquiring German will be a fun experience rather than a tedious drill.
